I'm an angel investor and advisor based in Austin, Texas, backing AI and deep tech companies. I was recently appointed Chairman of the Board at Lambda, so that's where a lot of my focus sits right now. Here's what else has my attention.
Chairing the board at Lambda
I was recently appointed Chairman of the Board at Lambda, a company I have deep confidence in. They've assembled a team with real capital formation and infrastructure deployment experience, and built technology that helps define what comes next in AI infrastructure. Alongside that, I stay close to the founders I advise, including Tennr and Omneky.
Looking hard at defense and deep tech
A big share of my attention these days is on defense and deep tech. I've been writing about how the defense market has grown into a launchpad for venture-scale technology, mapping the levels of drone autonomy, and meeting builders like Zane Mountcastle of Picogrid. I've also been recognized on Business Insider's "40 and Under" list of biotech investors, which is a space I care a lot about: backing companies working to cure disease, extend life, and improve the food system.
Getting more women athletes into tech
As a former collegiate runner at UC San Diego, I think a lot about helping women athletes move into tech. I recently hosted a Varsity Women's Club session where over two dozen female athletes gathered to learn how to land roles in the industry, and I've written about how to prep for that first job interview and why teams should hire college athletes for their sales rosters.
On the lighter side
My dad, a former magazine editor and writer, read an essay I wrote for my mom's sixtieth birthday and told me I should write more. So I am. When I'm not investing or writing, you'll usually find me reading, working through a math problem, or training for an Ironman triathlon.
